An Integrated and Practical Environmental Approach
At SJBS, working with wood in an environmentally responsible way is a given. Our commitment is not based on theory, but on concrete actions integrated into all our industrial processes.
Internal Recycling and Energy Autonomy
We recycle all our production waste directly on site. This internal valorization allows us to be energy self-sufficient by converting wood by-products into thermal energy.
This energy is used to:
- power our drying kilns,
- heat our steaming chambers.
A Modern and High-Performance Heating Plant
SJBS operates a modern heating plant, powerful enough to meet the high energy demands of our equipment.
This installation ensures:
- stable and controlled heat production,
- optimal use of energy derived from wood,
- overall consistency between production and energy consumption.
Responsible Water Management
Rainwater is collected on site and reused in our drying and steaming systems. This sustainable approach reduces the consumption of drinking water and optimizes natural resources while ensuring process efficiency.
No Chemical Products Used on Site
No chemical products are used at SJBS – SOCIÉTÉ JURASSIENNE DES BOIS SECS:
- neither for phytosanitary treatment (NIMP15),
- nor for thermal treatment of wood intended for outdoor use.
Our processes rely exclusively on heat, air, and precise control of parameters, ensuring natural, healthy, and material-friendly solutions.
Strict Compliance with FSC and PEFC / PAFC Traceability
For SJBS, processing wood responsibly is simply a logical approach. This philosophy is fully integrated into our company culture and long-term vision of the timber industry.
